About the course

Certificate in Art and Design course emphasises the development of basic knowledge, skills and appreciation of art & design. Students will learn basic design skills, engage in a broad range of design explorations and experiment with a variety of tools, media and fundamental techniques in art & design. Design project work is the core of the programme. It enables the practice of creative skills and integrates knowledge acquired in colour studies, drawing, painting, basic photography, design elements, basic creative digital application and more. In addition, students will gain fundamental skills in art & design and problem solving that will help them advance to higher studies and lifelong learning. Our Art and Design foundation course introduces the learner to a broad range of areas in the discipline of Art & Design. It is an interdisciplinary programme of study over one academic year that encourages exploration and experiment with different art and design disciplines & media. The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to develop an analytical and methodical approach to artwork and developing designs. It is also to introduces the learner to a broad range of design disciplines before choosing their pathway in Interior Design/ Architecture, Fashion & Textiles, Graphic design & Illustration and Animation.
