About the course
Diploma in Biotechnology course is designed to produce specialised human resource who is equipped with the skills and know-how on new biological processes of commercial importance in a diverse range of industries such as pharmaceutical, agricultural, industrial, forensic and healthcare sectors. Students will be exposed to practical knowledge of the foundation technologies for working with DNA, proteins, cells and molecules. They will also gain knowledge of different areas of biotechnology especially food biotechnology, agro biotechnology and environment biotechnology. Diploma in Biotechnology is an emerging technology. Which involves the knowledge from life sciences along with inputs from the chemical engineering, instrumentation, information technology etc. For the application in agriculture, food industry, Medicine, Pharmaceuticals and bulk chemical industries and environment conservation. Diploma in Biotechnology is developed from biology. Students in the Diploma in Biotechnology programme will learn the fundamentals in the biological sciences grounded in the understanding of the natural sciences. The program provides students with the transferable skills needed to build successful careers in a variety of biotechnology and research sectors. Diploma in Biotechnology balances theoretical understanding with hands-on practice in specific laboratory skills needed by employers.
