About the course

Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) course offers specific knowledge of accounting, finance, taxation, auditing, costing, management and economics. The aims of the programme are to produce competent and dedicated accountants who possess the attributes and skills required in the accounting profession and to develop a holistic understanding of business operations, particularly in all functional areas of accounting. Through Industrial Placement at established corporations, students will be able to have valuable hands-on experience in real-life working environments. The programme is recognised by professional bodies such as the ACCA, CIMA, CPA Australia and MICPA. The Bachelor in Accountancy (Honours) is an undergraduate academic programme that leverages on a unique learning opportunity in the combined disciplines of Accounting, Law, Finance and Management. Students pursuing the programme will be exposed to both the rich tradition and rigour of the accounting and audit, as well as to the state-of-the-art technologies used in the fields of economics, management, marketing, finance and insurance. As such, graduates of the programme are expected to be competent to handle not only the common accounting transactional matters, but as well to provide advice on complex strategic issues in business decision-making process. Graduates will find many opportunities in government ministries and departments, local authorities, government enforcement agencies (income tax; immigration; custom etc.), remiser firms, private corporations and companies, consultancy firms, banks, security firms, insurance companies, multimedia telecommunication companies, marketing agencies, educational institutions, as well as international corporations and companies.
