About the course
Bachelor of Technology (Hons) in Construction Management course is the science and art of procuring and directing human and physical resources for the successful and prudent realisation of a construction project, ensuring that the enterprise meets the desires of the client, the requirements of the budget, and the quality of the specification. Construction managers co-ordinate the construction of a variety of building projects – they’re involved in all stages of the construction and are responsible for the people and materials needed for the project. Our close links with the construction industry ensure that what you learned is relevant to your future career. The programme structure comprises of course modules shown in the table. The University courses equip students with the basic knowledge and skills such as communication, mathematics and IT, and also the techniques required to follow tertiary level studies. The basic major courses cover the broad fundamentals of building and construction technology. The core major courses develop in learners the advanced knowledge and skills in construction directly applicable to the workplace. Learners will also pick two electives from several offered to suit their own individual interest or to enhance their knowledge of subjects related to their work. This program is designed to respond to emerging trends in construction management. In the increasingly specialized and complex construction industry, successfully managing a construction project now requires a well-balanced education in construction science as well as practical business and management methods. The Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management degree program prepares students for leadership roles in the construction industry.
